Irish aparthotel operator Staycity opens new property in Frankfurt's Gateway Gardens district -

Frankfurt Rhine-Main is getting a new hotel: Irish aparthotel operator Staycity opened a newly built property near Frankfurt Airport.

The internationally active company has been supported in its relocation by FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region (FRM GmbH) in cooperation with the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation.

Peter Feldmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FRM GmbH and Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt, said: "The new hotel is a strong signal for our hospitality industry, and a strong signal for our airport. Staycity believes in Frankfurt as a location - and I do too. From Gateway Gardens, the cities and towns of Frankfurt Rhein-Main are just a stone's throw away, and the airport terminal is within walking distance. If you spend a night there, you'll be right in the middle of Germany's most international region. There could hardly be a better time than now, as signs are pointing towards an upswing. The number of overnight stays is signalling a growth trend which is confirmed by the increasing number of international business travelers are increasingly travelling to our region again."

Frankfurt is the third location for Staycity Aparthotels in Germany. The Irish company opened its first aparthotel in Berlin in 2019, followed by Heidelberg in 2021 and the property in Gateway Gardens in 2022. Staycity operates 30 properties in 14 European countries and is opening additional aparthotels in Dublin, Paris and London this year. By the end of 2022, Staycity plans to operate 5,500 apartments in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom. Staycity was founded in Dublin in 2004 by Tom Walsh and his brother Ger. The company specializes in the short- and long-term rental of high-quality aparthotels in prime city locations. Staycity operates under the brands Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity.

The decisive factor in the decision to open the new aparthotel in Gateway Gardens is its proximity to Frankfurt Airport. The hotel is just a seven-minute walk from Terminal 2 and offers easy access to Frankfurt's city center by S-Bahn. According to the Irish company, the Staycity property is perfect for business travelers. Leisure guests who want to visit the region's museums, historic buildings and vibrant arts and culture scene will also find Gateway Gardens a perfect fit.

"In our discussions with Staycity, it quickly became clear that Gateway Gardens is the perfect location for the company's newest aparthotel. Here, international guests are very close to one of Germany's most important transport hubs. From here, they can reach Frankfurt Airport in just a few minutes on foot, and are in Frankfurt City and at the main train station within a short time via the S-Bahn. In addition, one of the most important freeway junctions is right on the doorstep. These excellent connections are particularly crucial for international business travelers," says Eric Menges, President & CEO of FRM GmbH.
